Gigabyte AERO 15-X9-RT4K5MP 15″ Thin Bezel UHD IPS Adobe RGB 100%, i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, 32GB RAM, M.2 PCIe 1TB SSD, RGB Keyboard, Win10 Pro, 94Wh, Metal Chassis Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop
Pros: – The battery life is amazing when set correctly. I can get around 6-7 hours during the streaming of HD YouTube.
– The performance in most AAA games is smooth in high settings, some even as high as the 144 Hz refresh rate allows
-NVME SSD compatible is a great advantage. I wish it came with an NVME unit, but it was too easy to add a new one that I decided to buy mine and use the included unit as a semi-fast external backup unit.
-Size counts and this little one does his job and can be kept relatively cool considering the inner power, but in a very small form factor.
-The USB C port is always a plus
-The keyboard may be a bit stiff at first, but once you’ve become familiar with the pressure, it’s a pleasure to type with the keys.
-The screen is what I expect from an IPS screen. Correct colors with Pantone certification and very adaptable for users who prefer blue light filters. I keep my blue light at the medium level.
– Another great advantage is that the user can completely repair the laptop. You can easily access the memory, hard drive, network card and cooling unit after removing the back. Congratulations to Gigabyte for this and the addition of a HUGE battery.
CONS-I had to reinstall Windows for everything to work properly. It’s not that it didn’t “work” immediately, but apparently some of the software it contains has slowed things down. This was fixed by reinstalling Windows. The performance then increased dramatically.
-There is no infinite shift in the firmware included.
-It is not a very fast SATA m, 2 units included.
Overall rating: I would not hesitate to recommend this laptop to any of my tech-savvy friends. However, if you are not an advanced user or someone familiar with managing your own software installation, this laptop may be a little harder to get as planned.
