Pros: – High Fps in midrange games

CONS: – Battery life
– Noisy fans (only when set to power or turbo)
Overall Rating: As someone who’s never had a good computer, this laptop was a lucky break. The Ryzen 7 and GTX 1660 Ti in combination with 16GB of RAM are ideal for the mid to high price range and can run Skyrim (original, not remastered) with ultra settings at a speed of 65fps outdoors and 100fps in interiors. It also addresses defeat at maximum settings at 80fps when under stress. Obviously, the screen is not of the best quality, but it is perfect for what I need and it fights very well the minor reflections, while still showing all the colors I need.
Battery life leaves something to be desired, unless you change the battery to its maximum and reduce screen brightness and keyboard backlight. I got two and a half hours from YouTube with a light load. The battery shows the worst side under heavy load. With the remaining 40% and in power mode, I entered Dishonored for about 15 minutes and had to plug it in shortly before his death. Battery life isn’t that important to me since I’ve been on a desktop for 5 years, but I thought I’d include it for those who need something that lasts more than 4 hours.
All in all, the Asus TUF 505 is an amazing laptop for the price and very powerful for what I need. I haven’t started a Triple-A game yet, but treat Skyrim and Dishonored with maximum settings like a champion. Battery life is the only drawback I’ve noticed in my two weeks of ownership, and I’ll update my rating if anything serious comes to light.
